INTAKE 18 MIDSHIPMEN VISITED MARITIME AND PORT AUTHORITY
JALAN PELABUHAN MUARA, Tuesday 5 November 2019 – All midshipmen of Intake 18 were given an opportunity to visit the Maritime and Port Authority Brunei Darussalam earlier this morning. Accompanying the midshipmen were Lieutenant Commander (R) Pg Omarali bin Pg Jaya Indera Haji Mokhtar Puteh, Lieutenant Shahrul Idham bin Haji Bungsu, RBN and other Royal Brunei Technical Services instructors.
 
The visit aims to understand the purpose of the organisation, its mission, and vision as well as its core values. During the visit, one of the officers of MPABD emphasized the important role of the Maritime and Port Authority as a facilitator, to provide and maintain adequate and efficient lighthouses, beacons, buoys and other aids to navigation in the territorial waters of Brunei Darussalam and the approaches thereto and at such other places as the Authority may think fit to which in correlates with Royal Brunei Navy needs to navigate their ships at sea.

After the presentation, the midshipmen gained further knowledge from the question and answer session with the officers at MPABD. The visit ended with a token of appreciation given by the organisation to the officer of the Royal Brunei Navy and a group photo.
