TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Monday 29 June 2020 – The Rank Appointment Ceremony of Intake 19 Officer Cadet School (OCS) was held at the Headquarters (HQ) today.
The ceremony was officiated by 657 Maj (U) Pg Md Farisan bin Pg Hj Metassan, the Second in Command of OCS HQ. In attendance at the ceremony was the Intake Commander, 823 Maj (U) Awg Md Yusra bin Jafar, Platoon Commanders, Instructors, Training Team and Officer Cadets (OCdts).
The purpose of assigning ranks to OCdts is so that they will be able to experience harbouring responsibilities and duties that will be entrusted to them once they commission as officers.
The OCdts went through a stringent selection process in order to qualify for the training, where their potentials to join the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were assessed including physical fitness, leadership and analytical thinking ability.
At OCS, their leadership abilities, character and intellect will be developed and honed before they commission to join their respective services for more specialised training. Although they are already halfway through and considered as senior OCdts, they will still have to prove that they are able to meet the high standards demanded of future RBAF officers, with the spectrum of subject matter varying from physical fitness and basic military skills to analysis of strategic studies and modern military doctrine.
